In honor of the Preakness Stakes, we bring to you a classic cocktail with a Maryland’s Best twist – rye whiskey! Rye Whiskey is the official state spirit of Maryland and has a long history. Known for its spiciness, enjoy the rye whiskey complimented by the sweetness from both orange and mango juices. Thank you to Maryland’s own McClintock Distilling in Frederick for the recipe!
Black Eyed Susan
Ingredients
- 2 oz McClintock Distilling Company Rye Whiskey (or similar)
- 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 oz Orange Juice
- 1 oz Mango Juice
Instructions
- With a shaker full of ice, add all ingredients.
- Give a good shake.
- Strain into a new glass with ice.
- Garnish with orange and cherries!
