AgriTrails – Maryland Grown Food and Fun

Maryland’s Best AgriTrails initiative is a partnership between the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Funded by the Chesapeake Gateways Grant from the National Park Service, AgriTrails will attract visitors to Maryland through a series of agricultural product themed trails with linked outdoor recreation activities such as hiking, biking, and water trails. The trails will highlight Maryland agriculture and aquaculture products and businesses, share the historic and cultural stories of community members, and help participants discover new ways to get outside and explore!

To track and log your adventures, AgriTrails has teamed up with Bandwango to bring you a free web-based platform (meaning it won’t take up space on your phone storage!) so you can track the places you have been AND you can earn points that can be redeemed for prizes. Each trail will have its own unique pass with its own prizes so there will be something fun to do and explore all year long!

In 2026, explore the three AgriTrails developed to include:

– FeBREWary and March: Sip & Shuck (formerly Shuck & Stout) which highlights restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries that use local ingredients alongside Maryland oysters, and will highlight winter-appropriate outdoor activities. To get started, head to the Sip & Shuck page. Or you can register for the Bandwango Pass now and get started!

– Memorial Day Weekend-Labor Day: Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail features on-farm creameries that use locally sourced milk paired with family-friendly hikes.

– September-November: Bikes & Brews (Coming Soon!) will specifically focus on breweries using local ingredients and bike paths nearby.
