Founded in October 2022, Communitas Farm is a small-scale regenerative farm transitioning to USDA certified organic. We are located in Baltimore County. We grow veggies, herbs, melons, and flowers for CSA, wholesale, local delivery, and our farm stand. We offer online shopping and attend farmer's markets in Baltimore City as well. We integrate sustainable practices—from our field practices to our packaging materials—providing healthy food to residents of Baltimore City as well as Baltimore, Carroll, Howard, and Montgomery Counties. We have CSA pick-up locations throughout central Maryland. Communitas is Latin for "spirit of community." It is in this spirit of community that we've designed, built, and and maintained our operation as first-generation farmers who grew up in this community. Our mission is to use sustainable and regenerative farm practices to provide our community with high-quality produce. We envision a world where people know their local farmers, and farms mitigate the effects of climate change. We have the following core values: community — create and foster a network of people; health — support healthy people and a healthy planet; justice — provide access to sustainably grown food; resilience — strengthen our local food system; stewardship — improve our environment. Here's a summary of our growing practices: Do use integrated pest management practices. Don't use herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, or synthetic pesticides. Do use organic (natural) pesticides. Don't use single-use plastic in production. Do use electric equipment and tractors to reduce fossil fuel combustion. We accept nutrition assistance, including SNAP and WIC, at our farmer's markets. We are working toward accepting SNAP online.
