Eat like a Marylander celebrates the many wonderful, seasonal foods available in our backyard this Thanksgiving. Maryland’s Best encourages you to buy local and enjoy the best Maryland has to offer during this holiday season! During this time of giving thanks, we are thankful for the farmers and watermen who continue to provide food for our community. Buying locally is one of the many ways we can show our thanks and gratitude for the nourishment they provide to our families.

To help make your Thanksgiving meal easy to pull off, Maryland’s Best is highlighting farms across the state to make your Thanksgiving completely local! Below are a list of farms that are offering boxes that include produce to make your side dishes, local turkeys, and more! We also provide a list of where to buy individual foods like turkeys in case you want to pick and choose. Check out the delicious recipes below featuring these fresh, local ingredients so all you have to do is don the apron.  Make this a Thanksgiving to remember while supporting Maryland farmers and enjoy like a Marylander!

Albright Farms Thanksgiving Box

Deposits available now for turkeys to pick up at the farm Nov 22-26, 3505 Sweet Air Road, Phoenix. $50 for produce box plus the cost of the turkey based on size. Everything you need to make your table full is available including desserts, gravy, and spices.

Emily’s Produce Thanksgiving Box

Order by November 3!! Pick-up at the farm on Nov 26 or 27, 2214 Church Creek Rd, Cambridge. Individual meals or a complete box for the family is available. Enjoy local turkeys, prepared sides using Maryland produce and apple cobbler!

Jones Family Farm Thanksgiving Box

Pick-up location at the farm in Harford County on Nov 26 only, 2107 Philadelphia Road. Box starts at $90 plus the cost of the turkey (based on size – multiple available!) Moon Valley Farm Thanksgiving Box

Order by November 14!! Multiple pick-up locations and delivery available in Frederick, Baltimore, and DC. See the full map here. Box starts at $125 with optional protein add-ons. Richardson Farms Thanksgiving Box

Order by November 24!! Complete heat and eat meals are available for pre-order with a main course, three sides, a bread, and a dessert. Depending on main course price ranges from $129.99 to $141.99. Pick up is available at the farm at 5900 Ebenezer Road, White Marsh. Additionally, turkeys can be ordered separately and walk-ins for heat and serve is available November 21-30.

Shlagel Farms Thanksgiving Box

Deposits for turkeys available now! Pick-up the week of Thanksgiving in Waldorf at the farm on Nov 26 or at the Anne Arundel Farmer’s Market on Sunday, Nov 23. $30 deposit, cost of turkey depends on size. Add a produce box for your sides for $30. Ham is also available!

Waltz Family Farm offers a great selection of Beef Pork Lamb & Chicken to make your Thanksgiving meal outstanding! I personally love Sage Sausage Stuffing and our Smoked Hams!  We are partnering up with Whispering Breeze Farm to bring Fresh Turkeys to Hollywood Farmers Market, $20 deposit required. You may also order Turkey Breasts, Legs or Wings. Whole Fresh Turkeys, Small Birds are 12-15 lb,  Medium Birds are 16-21 lb and Large Birds are 22-25 lb.  Cost is $6.95lb. Turkey Breasts, boneless, are $11.50 lb and usually range from 3.5-5 lb. They will be frozen. Turkey Legs or Thighs are $10 lb and will also be frozen.
