Governor Larry Hogan has proclaimed Saturdays in the month of September as “Buy Maryland Seafood Days,” encouraging all Marylanders to support the state’s iconic seafood industry.
From blue crabs and rockfish, to oysters and blue catfish, our state’s watermen provide a wide range of top quality, fresh seafood products. Purchasing these local products helps the economy to recover during these challenging times.
Maryland watermen and seafood distributors, processors and suppliers are essential to the state’s food supply chain, and have continued operating throughout the COVID-19 pandemic response. The state’s seafood and aquaculture industry has an economic impact of $355 million and supports more than 3,000 jobs across the state.
