Baltimore Peach Cake
A classic summer treat in Charm City. According to the Baltimore Sun, the first mention of this cake was in an 1886 edition of the paper. This version is from Howard County's Larriland Farm.

- 1 tbsp butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 cup flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 3/4 cup sugar Mixed with:
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 5 large Maryland peaches peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
With mixer, blend first five ingredients
Spread in greased and floured 15 by 10 jelly roll pan (rimmed baking sheet)
Sprinkle half of cinnamon/sugar mixture lightly over dough
Arrange peach slices by rows
Sprinkle remainder of cinnamon/sugar mixture and drizzle melted butter over it
Bake for 25-30 minutes
