Nestled in the rolling hills of Middletown, Alpacas of Windswept Farm is home to a herd of Huacaya alpacas in a rich variety of colors. Alpacas, often mistaken for their cousins the llama, produce a highly prized fiber that is soft, lightweight and warm, yet considered hypoallergenic. Natural alpaca fiber comes in a wide range of colors but is also dyed to a variety of vibrant colors. Shorn once a year, our alpaca fiber is spun by local mills into various types of yarn and used to create finished product such as scarves and shawls. Supplementing the products we produce on the farm, we also offer a variety of commercially produced products such as socks, throws, and sweaters. In addition to alpaca products, we will have ornamental gourds and corn available in the fall for holiday/seasonal decorating. Look for us in the autumn/winter at local festivals.
